Research & Opportunities
Due too the lack of support post surgery, many people leave hospital with life changing disabilities and challenges. Those that have enjoyed sports, clubs, or social groups feel scared to step back into the aspects of life they used to love. This is where prosthetic connect steps in! We built this app concept as a way to bring people together that feel lost or alone. Understanding the needs of the user, in this project was crucial. Approaching people, through Alex Lewis, that have suffered amputation or life changing illnesses with the idea to create an app tailored too them and their specific needs was the perfect place to start. We identified 4 key points for impact: 1. Too many sport organisations trying to promote their own initiatives. This is where we can act as a hub to bring initiatives together 2.They result to going for a walk in public making them feel like people are looking at them. 3. Feel left out of the community feel of a club. 4. Would love the feeling of a mentor being there for them and showing they can still achieve within their love of sport.
